Perm became the winner of the «Best Intermunicipal Cooperation Practice» contest

Department for Education of Perm City met in the finals with municipalities of St. Petersburg, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo, Tolyatti and Cheboksary.

The team of Perm municipality took the first place in the category "Education". The finals were held on November 17th in Yekaterinburg as a part of the 6th All-Russian Forum of Strategic Development "Cities of Russia 2030". The Department for Education of Perm City Administration presented the practice of "Strategies for Joint Opportunities", which include a number of projects, namely network clusters, cross-curricular educational programs, educational quarters and dual education.

Network educational clusters allow high school students to study academic subjects in depth by combining the resources of schools in the same neighborhood. Cross-curricular educational programs provide preschoolers' families with a choice of cross-curricular programs that are implemented in conjunction with nearby schools. The project of "Educational quarters" is aimed at ensuring equal access for children to relevant and in-demand programs of additional education for early career guidance using the human and material resources of various enterprises and industrial associations. As part of the "Dual Education" project, college classes, where students will receive secondary vocational education along with secondary general education, are being formed.

"Perm education has strong projects that allow institutions to get better results in the process of unification," notes Anna Demeneva, head of the Department for Education of Perm City Administration.

Municipalities with experience in intermunicipal interaction were invited to participate in the contest. Any of the practices that had been effective during the last ten years, the results of which proved to be significant for municipalities, could be submitted for the contest.

The goal of the "Best Intermunicipal Cooperation Practices" contest is to identify and disseminate successful practices and mechanisms of inter-municipal cooperation, innovations and effective solutions to social and economic development issues. The contest is organized by the All-Russian Association of Local Self-Government Development, the Development Center Foundation, and the Yekaterinburg City Administration.
